Was that the reason? Or was it removed for violating something in the site guidelines? At the very least the contact information should remain up just in case the author wishes to share the story or sell it. Currently there is no way that I know to contact a missing author to find out what happened to their work.

(Especially if someone wants to publish a similar story, getting permission is difficult)
