Mods are the people working here for nothing in order to make this place a more pleasant experience for members. I'm sorry if I touched a nerve. I'm someone who appreciates due process over abuse of power. Yes, this is a private site and there is no freedom of speech argument and no one pays a fee to play in Laurel and Manu's playground but I question of the site owners are being responsible with the authority they give to mods.

I'm sure that you believe that you know what you're talking about but you don't. You should consider that your experience with the site owners and the mods is different from mine. Mods are people who don't get paid and are unsupervised which allows them to go on a power trip. My experience is that not only do they not have the patience of a saint, they state, in private, that they can do what they want and don't owe anyone an explanation. No, they don't make this place more pleasant for everyone! I avoid mods as much as possible but anytime I politely asked a question the response I got was we can do what we want and you should fuck off.

Rather than ranting, why not take each sentence I posted on this thread and show me where I was incorrect and abusive? I made a rather innocuous post expressing an opinion. I didn't attack anyone or mention any names. Since then, I've had to defend my opinion to the brain-dead mod, Debbie who I suspect was being disingenuous and now you with your unhinged rant.

Once again, I appreciate that this playground is free but I believe that the site owners have an obligation to the people who visit otherwise they are no different from giant corporations who accept money from clients and provide bullshit customer service in the form of recorded messages.

and if anyone's using AI to 'generate large blocks of text' (any, in my opinion), then it clearly isn't all the work of the author and so cheating in a way. Now if there were venues to post clearly labeled AI-generated text, then that wouldn't be an issue since it's at least clear the author cannot accept all the plaudits.
