Impeachment?

Impeachment is a political process by design. The Clinton and Trump impeachments showed that most voters recognize that. Unless there is a realistic chance of conviction by the Senate, impeachments are nothing but political theater. Another impeachment would just be another side show. Meaningful political trials happen on campaign trails and at the ballot box, not in the halls of Congress.

The second impeachment should have been done during the final days, so Mitch could vote to remove. But he told the Dems to wait until the Cheeto is out of office…. So the pubs had an excused to vote no.

All that did was give a time limit in crimes that can be committees by the sitting President. That one was against the American people, just like Tricky in the 70s. The quid pro quo was against the American people too.

Nixon probably would have been convicted by the Senate if he’d been impeached instead of resigning. None of the three impeachments over the past quarter century had the slightest chance of leading to conviction.

Ever since it became a zero sum game instead of best for the country.

Newt just wanted to take his new “power” against Bill since they couldn’t get anything else to stick… the Cheeto actually did both things he was accused of… pubs just didn’t want to have the first President removed.

Clinton was impeached for lying under oath which is a federal crime. He was subsequently disbarred by the Arkansas state bar association.

Trump was found liable for sexual assault and battery. The jury found that Trump got his fingers in, but weren’t convinced that his dick managed to.

Yes, Phil is misinformed. The jury said Ms. Carrol did not prove by a preponderance of evidence that Trump raped her.

Seeing as that is the one they get most on… at least Bill didn’t shake down another country for political help or try to overthrow his own government.

I don’t know if the GOP plans to impeach Biden for that shakedown but even if they do, he won’t be convicted by the Senate. The outcome of another impeachment will be no different than the outcomes of previous impeachments.

Hmmm, well evidence will be important. If it’s there, and not some paid informants who don’t have actual documents, then it’s there. If not, those pubs in 50:50 districts, might have some problems come 2024 getting re-elected.

Looks like Jack has the Cheeto’s number for Jan 6, so since Mitch didn’t have cajones, we follow the evidence.

If puppet McCarthy and extremist repubs ram a fantasy shakedown impeachment based on wishes and boolshit through, I hope the senate dems say paybacks a bitch and refuse to hold a trial. After all, repubs stepped aside and abandoned their sworn oaths when there was actual evidence that trump made an imperfect call.

I mean, ‘pubs refused to have a confirmation hearing for Garland for SC… and then rushed through theirs just four years later.

Use the same language, it is important for the next Senate to be able to hear this case (should it happen)… blah blah blah
