I saw a story pop up after I published A Karen Gets Her Comeuppance where the guy wrote about a raging "Karen" but while the concept was similar, he at least wrote his own story.

This just looks like a badly done Cliff Notes of yours.

I am assuming here that the two stories have a very similar plotline and yours is the original version. Alas these things happen, I would say you are right in saying that you should be flattered.
I believe quality of writing wins out in the end.

Wanda, I didn't read the first story but I did read yours. Voted and commented also.

In both stories, two nine-year-old girls meet at a beach during summer vacation and become fast friends. Each year after that, they spend their summer vacation together at the same beach until they are fifteen. They lose touch after that until meeting again at a beach when they are 22 ("You, Me and The Sea") or 25 ("Sandcastles"). The two women eventually become lovers during their stay at the beach. "You, Me and The Sea" stops there, whereas that's about the halfway point of "Sandcastles". "You, Me and the Sea" is much shorter at two pages than "Sandcastles" (eight pages), so unsurprisingly "Sandcastles" is a slower story. The beginnings are very similar, but once the women reunite, I felt the stories had different ways of reaching the same destination.
