What a grotesque story. I felt sorry for Josh Duggar's underage harem, having to live under the same roof as their pervert older brother, with Mom and Dad overtly siding with their son.

"Boys will be boys".

The asking of the audience to volunteer a child to show how to spank and bless.
Me instantly yelling at the screen that that’s an inappropriate thing to do.
A parent willingly sending up their unsuspecting child.
A grown man bending a child over his knee.
The look on the child’s face.
The demand for a hug from the child at the end.

I had to hit pause and take a long break questioning WTF did I just watch.

Thank God I never took the effort to find out what the "Dugger Family" thing was all about.

🤔 Very interesting to me the select people talking about this docu, offended by it. You would think that the what about the children?, pearl clutching, always ready to point a finger at groomers crowd would be all over a thread like this. 🤔

Watching it as we speak. And no, I'm not surprised the usual suspects aren't up in arms about it. They just want an excuse to hate the people they already hate.

No opinion, because I never made the effort to find out what any of that was about.

I knew of them, well, just because…
This documentary is the first time I ever watched anything on them. Honestly, it’s like all other cults. Fraud, deceit, abuse of women and children, etc.

Never seen one episode. Nor of "Toddlers & Tiaras". (One of them killed herself, and Honey Boo Boo says she's basically screwed up for life.)

Making a spectacle of batshit crazy and stupid Southerners is lazy entertainment, and it also exploits children.

Were the Duggars a family of drag queens? Or right-wing 'Christians'?

For those unfamiliar with them, they were the "stars" of the TLC reality series, "17 and Counting" (then 18, and finally "19 and Counting". They're an embarrassment. The title comes from the number of children the couple had. When it was revealed one of the children molested some of his sisters, the show was canceled. If anyone wants to dig more into them, here's a link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/19_Kids_and_Counting

I'm from Arkansas, where this lovely family hails from. Our illustrious new governor, whose entire political experience was watching her daddy be our less than competent governor from 1996 to 2007 and being a biological ventriloquist dummy as Donald Trump's press secretary, is trying to shape our already beleaguered state into exactly the sort of "moral philosophy" espoused by the Duggars.

My late grandma used to make me and my sister watch the Duggar show. They’re a vile bunch.
