Does anyone know what's up with Story Ratings?

Hi All -
Longtime member of this site, but first time using the forums. Lately as I was browsing stories under one of my favorite categories, I noticed that none of the stories are listing their rating (1-5 star average). Does anyone know what's going on with this? What am I missing here?

Can you provide a link? If we could see what you are referring to we could probably answer.

If it's a new story list, then it's possible that the stories haven't been voted on yet, or it's possible that some of the authors have chosen not display scores. But without information we can't know.

Does the site show the ranking from the first vote? I can't remember. Some sites have to have ten votes before the rating is displayed.

There's also an oddity with the new category hubs. They don't show the current story stats unless you scroll down and click on the "More" stories bar to expand the page.

What if she is a tall lanky Canadian Mounted Policewoman?

The main new story page is no longer displaying scores. I assume that's what the OP is talking about.

As to why? Couldn't tell you. But if I had to make a guess, I'd say it might be an indication that page is queuing up for an update in the ( relatively ) near future.

I have submissions here with only two votes (yup! :() and they definitely appeared quite quickly.

Different site, then. My keyboard is suffering from an infusion of spilled fruit juice. The lesson I learned is don't hold your toddler at your computer when he sipping from a straw out of regular glass. The sippy cups were all dirty, and I was too lazy to clean them. :(

I knocked a small glass of port over on my keyboard not too long ago. I didn't have the excuse of a toddler (that's a good excuse; I had none). Sticky keys are annoying.

Yes, you do, you were pissed (in the Australian vernacular, not your own).

You need a portal cleanser...

If TP ends up being a short corrupt male French police officer, I'm going to be pretty darn disappointed.
Claude Rains was actually from London. He was severely wounded while serving in the British Army during Word War I, but remained in the military and reached the rank of captain. When he starting acting after the war, he took voice lessons to loose his Cockney accent. He was married six times (like Gloria Swanson!). When he passed in 1967, his daughter said, "He died like most actors, waiting for his agent to call."

A very interesting guy and a fine actor. Okay, digression over. Carry on.
