Fine, then it's all on him.Biden will veto it.
LolFine, then it's all on him.
Mission accomplished.Lol
The legislation was meant to be vetoed. They didn't pass it with any serious motive other than to start negotiating and provide campaign fodder for 2024.
yes, accomplishing nothing except extending the problem. And still no budget.Mission accomplished.
Here's how it all went down, s I said:Actually, it was Clinton's first budget that took the crucial first steps, and not a single Republican in either house of Congress voted for it. As for 1995, Gingrich's strategy was to assume Clinton would capitulate and give him everything he wanted (admittedly not an unreasonable assumption given Clinton's track record up to that time). It was only when Clinton called his bluff and triggered a government shutdown that Gingrich even came to the table for negotiations.
He was already at the table. It appears the President realizes he has to come to the table.

No, Bill Clinton Didn’t Balance the Budget

So let me ask: Are you comfortable with this bill screwing veterans so they can use this bill as a political ploy to curry favor with the voters and as a device to play brinksmanship with the economy to win at the negotiating table? And please don't try the, "They didn't specifically target veterans in the bill" hogwash. While they did not specifically target veterans, what they did do was put in the bill a 22% cut in discretionary spending WITHOUT specifying ANY protected programs. They declared they would "address the veterans later". That is unlikely to happen given the history of such promises being honored in Congress. I don't trust ANY politician of ANY party when they use a term like that in a situation like this.Mission accomplished.
The House has passed a bill raising the debt ceiling. We now need the Senate to pass a bill but majority leader Schumer has done nothing. He seems to forget that his party won the majority last year. It's an odd time we live in...
Biden tossing money around all over the world. Makin it rain!
My Congress Critter posting on FB and Twitter about all the money he's handing out in the district.
Yet... we need to raise the limit on the credit card because $31 trillion just isn't enough.
They are all liars.
Schumer will pass a clean ceiling increase and ignore the House bill. As he should. The House has passed a bill raising the debt ceiling. We now need the Senate to pass a bill but majority leader Schumer has done nothing. He seems to forget that his party won the majority last year.
Right, because senility sets in at seventy. He seems to forget that…
Feinstein, Manchin and Sinema are wild cards.Schumer will pass a clean ceiling increase and ignore the House bill. As he should.
And he has already started that process. (Not nothing)

The House bill is DOA and McCarthy knows it.Feinstein, Manchin and Sinema are wild cards.
He hasn’t done so yet and he’s burning daylight. Let’s hope he gets his shit together quickly and finds the 59 or 60 votes needed to pass a bill.Schumer will pass a clean ceiling increase and ignore the House bill. As he should.

Debt limit bills require a simple majority to pass, not "59 to 60 votes". Let's hope 'n pray Senator Feinstein is well enough to vote this month. He hasn’t done so yet and he’s burning daylight. Let’s hope he gets his shit together quickly and finds the 59 or 60 votes needed to pass a bill.
Nope, reconciliation doesn’t apply. I suppose he could try the nuclear option. But even then, Machin, Tester and Sinema are no sure thing. He hasn’t scheduled a vote on the “clean” bill because the votes are not there. Schumer is in a box and the clock is running.Debt limit bills require a simple majority to pass, not "59 to 60 votes". Let's hope 'n pray Senator Feinstein is well enough to vote this month.
Why hasn’t he done that yet? It’s not even scheduled. What’s he waiting for?BabyBoobs
“Schumer is in a box”
Schumer will bring a vote on A CLEAN DEBT LIMIT INCREASE / SUSPENSION, to the floor of the Senate and FORCE “republicans” to take a position with their votes. When “republicans” kill THE CLEAN DEBT LIMIT INCREASE/ / SUSPENSION in the Senate, the American people will see who is playing radical games with the economy and engaging in terroristic negotiating tactics.

It may be DOA but house pubs aren’t going to budge. The house bill is a reasonable bill. The House bill is DOA and McCarthy knows it.
