Unfortunately I don't have anyone to really share that with except you lot, so sorry about that.

I've got my Geek Pride story done a month early. I'm sure I'll do a few more editing passes to tinker with word choice, etc., but it's nice to have it done so far in advance.

That said, I agree with the above comments re troll-bait. I’d as soon carry a copper umbrella in an alpine thunderstorm. I would strongly suggest you erase that before the mouth-breathers notice.

There's a reason my writing profile is separate from my forum one. Sad but there we go. It can prob be sniffed out still, but that will require effort.

Anyhow, I'll take comfort from the fact that the first 23 votes were there, and the ones that follow are as a result of this thread

My most recent story started off at 5.0 after 26 votes but my inspiration that “It might make it into the monthly contest if it keeps up like this!” was quickly put to the curb over the next few votes; it’s not hard for a few 4s to do that when there aren’t many votes and anything lower can feel like a shock. Fortunately, it’s still in the high 4.7s after a good run and has had some excellent comments so I’m happy with it and that’s pretty positive.

I'm right there with you. My latest story for the On the Job event was something I was really looking forward to posting, because I liked it so much. Much to my surprise I'm at a 4.3 after four days. I don't mind a lower score so much, if those people might have mentioned what they didn't like. My 3 comments were positive.

My novella, Isabel ,a prequel to The Adventures of Ranger Ramona, got an extremely good score, but, maybe because it's a long read, not many votes. It sat, for months, just shy of the 100 votes needed to be included on the All Time Top List.

Well, it got a few more votes recently, and with a score of 4.91, is currently #16 on the Novels and Novellas all time list!

So true! After a sweep, one of mine hit number 1 in a category and I was so excited for all of about 12 minutes until it was voted down (actually, I think it was probably 12 hours until the next update but it felt like 12 minutes). Haha. I think it’s in the 40s now…or maybe lower?

I recently wrote a "cuck shit" story called "Fragments Whatever." It got between a 2 and 3 out of 5. I felt so Goddamned honored to receive such a great score! Hooray for "cuck shit" stories! I also want to show my support for custom made "margaritas" with 1800 blue agave, silver tequila, Cointreau and 100% orange juice, which I call the "Happiness Drink" and the roast lamb and veggies I'm making tonight. Enough of this big mouthing myself. I need to be far more humble...
