In the jungle all day, with constant rain. No pool today. I thought about it but there was a danger-noodle sunning himself on the deck, so that was that. Escaped base and went off to the nearest town. A few dodgy meats on sticks with a couple of people then wandered through the afternoon markets. I bought myself a packet of knickers because they had unicorns on them.

I was actually thinking how fun the word “knickers” is. We don’t use it in America but I think we should. Just a fun word to say and hear.
But I will also say that “panty” has a sexier sound to me. Sounds more sensual.

Panty/Panties doesn't get used that much over here. It's understood of course, but I wouldn't say "I accidentally flashed my panties sitting on the picnic rug" in everyday speech. You'd have to take a straw poll of everyone here to get an idea by geography.
