It’s fun. I’ve been riding on and off my whole life. Although I’ve got nothing to show for itI've only ridden a horse two or three times in my life.

I had a horse for 7 years. It was a lot of responsibility and money. And then to lose them… it’s awful. I would be hesitant to do it againI am so jealous. I have taken riding lessons a few times as an adult and am very much a beginner - but I loved it. I can totally see how you could have a great relationship with a horse - the connection is amazing. Good thing horses are super expensive and needy!

yeah - boarding around here alone is crazy. No wonder all my farming friends just buy atvs. It is way easier. It doesn’t break your heart when you atv needs to be replaced.I had a horse for 7 years. Right? How much is full board where you are?yeah - boarding around here alone is crazy. No wonder all my farming friends just buy atvs. It is way easier. It doesn’t break your heart when you atv needs to be replaced.
Hmm… average is probably 200- 400 a month here. Depending on feed, electricity, and proximity to city among other things. I know people who board in other provinces and states just to avoid the cost.Right? How much is full board where you are?
That’s actually not bad. I mean I still couldn’t afford it at this point but thats not bad. I paid anywhere from $450-$850 over 10 years agoHmm… average is probably 200- 400 a month here. Yeah - that is fair - the process really jump up the closer you get to the city of course and you get in that next tier of like 500-800. And truthfully I was only on the outside looking into that world - lessons horses are very different! That’s actually not bad. I mean I still couldn’t afford it at this point but thats not bad. I’m in the country! But I only pay like $35 for a half an hour lesson which is manageableYeah - that is fair - the process really jump up the closer you get to the city of course and you get in that next tier of like 500-800. Ahaha. Oh man - between my two sessions like 5-10 years ago - which would have been like 20 session max - I paid like a grand. I would do it again though - even to pretend that I was part of that world. It is such a fun skill.I’m in the country! But I only pay like $35 for a half an hour lesson which is manageable
I guess I shouldn't tell you how little I paid for a full hour when living on the countryside... And the groups were tiny, and the horses had so limited amount of work that they actually were often excited about the lessons.I’m in the country! Good night little owlI'm curling under my blanket, a lot earlier than last night - as I should!
Good night!
They look like they have a great lifeThere is a farm several towns over from me that operates as a horse rescue for retired or abused horses. Not the same as boarding working horses but these critters have a good life. They have events throughout the year and have a huge fundraiser around Christmas.
