Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

@Cindy027
Call me crazy, but I'm fascinated buy the small differences in our English language... You put the date before the month and some others say 'tyres', some have 24hr times
(18:00)=3 pm & Celsius? Yeah, right. It's taught in our schools, but old farts like me...gotta pull out a calculator!
I use all sorts, remember my father is a product of Boston English, so that and school English is my vocabulary 😆 and lots of reading English novels.

Btw, 18:00 is 6pm not 3pm 😁
Canada is an amazing country. So much beauty and so many beautiful people. ❤️🇨🇦
I really should visit there, go back to my half roots 😂😂. My grandparents came from Montréal but I want to go to Chicago and Seattle before I go to Canada.

I've been to a few places in Canada, and have enjoyed Seattle and Chicago very much.

My dad used aspirin for back pain before he had a surgery in the 70's. The doctors didn't warn him about the risk of ulcer, when he told them aspirin works fine and he didn't need a stronger prescription. Well, ulcer is what he got... And it took at least some 10 years before his stomach problems got somewhat in check. All my childhood we were supposed to be quiet in the mornings, because he slept badly so often.

Ibuprofen isn't quite as bad, but the risk is still there. I notice I get more heartburn if I need to use it more.
I myself haven’t had any stomach issues related to the NSAIDs, but again I know a lot of people do. I’m fortunate in that way, because I don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t take them.

I'd be fucked up as well, as paracetamol alone doesn't work for me in the least, and it might be difficult to get any (in practice stronger) prescription ones at my level of headaches and PMS.

So I try to steer clear from any real issues.

Finally my mead is in bottles (instead of, like, 4+ hours ago as a sane person would have done it). It could stay in room temp while brewing, but I think I'll take it to the cellar tomorrow.

My meal plan isn't done, however 🤦🏻‍♀️ And therefore shopping list neither...

You made your own Mead? That is so cool!

There has been decent quality mead in stores for only some 15 years. Even now 70% of the store-bought ones are utterly miserable.

And it's silly easy to make. Lemons (juice, possibly skin), sugar, water and a tiny bit of yeast. Raisins in the bottles if you like. One day in a big container with loose lid and 5-7 days in thee bottles. Raisins make it easy to see it's ready to drink - as they rise to the top.

Should I share the recipe?

Mead is especially served around 1st of May here, but I find an excellent summer drink in the heat, too. I'm born in the end of April, so I've had mead four birthday for as long as I can remember, literally. Probably since something like 2yo. (The amount of alcohol in most versions is negligent. It's more like lemonade.)

Good morning our Kiwi friends.

And good evening to those in USA.

Another birthday coming up I read.

Sure! I’d like to try making it. I thought it was made with honey though.
