Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

Hope you midwesters still have power and stuff and the weather wasn’t too frightful
I am good with power. The storm clouds seemed to part like the biblical waters and our City of Trees was spared. Thanks for your concern.
Thank goodness this is at least the last workday for a while...
Rest Little Owl and relax.

Good morning! Thinking about a good excuse to avoid some pending errands and stay at home 🙃

And that hug would be nice! 🥰

Have y'all a wonderful day!
🤗 Hugs are easy to get here! (For any decent people)

Staying home is nice. But do you rather stay home now or later, if you postpone the errands?

Just finished working! Now 4-5h to clean and cook. Even quick pop in the nearest tiny grocery store, so I won't be indoors all day.
Need some tea to help the energy for the errands today? Also, you mentioned a dinner for the Easter Holidays and it was something I was not familiar with. I am curious as always.

Thanks, I really could!

I like to have an Easter dinner with my parents when I'm in town. It's ages since last time. I'd quess it will be lamb, but could be anything really. Well, the others may eat "mämmi" , but I've never liked it. It's made of rye and stewes very long (as in the past you wasn't supposed to heat up the stow on Good Friday). I've heard they have a somewhat similar dish in Middle East, called samanu and made of wheat.

My personal tradition has become to make a batch of quark. Some of families make pasha, especially in Carelia or if the family comes from there, but I haven't really learned to like that, or make it. Just quark it easier, but I put orange marmelade, raisins and even groated hazelnut in, so it's definitely in the same style. Need to make it today, so the flavours even out during the night.

What goes into quark? As a cook, I love knowing about new foods.
Quark is an ingredient in itself. A sour dairy product, almost like cream cheese exept our version isn't fatty at all.

When making it into a dessert, I add whipped cream, and the rest depends on the occasion and what you like. With range marmelade and raisins I probably won't need any sugar. (I've lost the recipe, so I'm checking every Easter how it tastes!)
