Why lingerie?

Dogma is definitely worth seeing.

There's a cliche that men like bright red tacky see-through/show off as much as possible lingerie whereas women prefer more tactile pieces (makes sense seeing as they're wearing it) in more subtle colours and shapes that they feel accentuates their best features.

I suspect it depends more nowadays on the mood either are going for. The 'guy buys terrible lingerie' is more of a sitcom character who also buys flowers from the petrol/gas station and can't find a clitoris with a map. He may still exist but I'm not fucking him, so that's not my problem.

I haven't ever seen Dogma, so Lit is just a vein of solid gold tips this week.

Also, ew...

If you're a devout Roman Catholic, you might be offended by the way it treats papal infallibility and other questions about Catholic dogma. But that was precisely what movie critic Roger Ebert, who was raise as a Catholic, loved about it. And it has one of Alan Rickman's great performances as the Voice of God.

It’s not just the men that like the lace, silk and satin, I like the feel of it on my skin, and it’s one of my secrets under my outer clothes. it’s part of the seduction for me, I really enjoy a man undressing me, slowly and clearly excited by it, the tender trembling moment, when he touches my skin, and feels the softness of my underwear under his hands. I love the the feeling as his thumbs hook under the waistband of my panties, and slides them downward over my thighs, knees, calves and ankles, his face close to my pussy, and if he kisses my pubic mound, then really, penile entry is inevitable …….. just thinking about it sets me off.
Lovely descriptions and revealing of the emotional anticipation, thanks.

Coming late to this party.

I like lingerie. Why?

  1. Well - as I was saying to someone else on here earlier - about the most girly thing about me is a love of clothes. Lingerie is an extension of that.
  2. Also, as documented in some of my writing, I have some hang-ups about my appearance - I think I look better in lingerie than nude, I like the super-skin element of stockings for example.
  3. There is also the teasing aspect of taking off things like lacy bralette, or garter belt.
  4. Then there is signalling - it’s unambiguously stating what you want and your availability.
  5. There is an association with hookers / bad girls as well.
  6. Finally, there is the reaction it stimulates in him or her.

Does anyone else find bulleted lists sexy, or is that just me?

Science-girl, that’s me 👩‍🔬.

Ya' gotta know that I almost gave one of my FMCs a brainiac role - several pages where this former prostitute "dabbled" in theoretical physics, knowing she'd make a bunch more money on the streets than pursuing a PhD. She kept science journals in her waiting room for johns to peruse, and was close to discovering the wormhole that made the MMC so irresistible to women. "Way better than the other kind of '----hole', Steven."

:ROFLMAO:

I don’t reflect the nerdy side of me in my work. Probably should think about it. I mean some of my stories are nerdy, but my fictionalized self isn’t.

Hmm…

My deep science background is way too old and musty to have taken it very far. But it was good joke material about whether ELENA and ALICE from the LHC would be decent dating material.

squishy rather than glow in the dark.

Though as I recall from my days in the Physics block, our professor always had a saying:

If it squishes it's biology. If it smells it's chemistry. If it doesn't work, it's physics.
I did Structural Biology, so arguably. Biophysics. Not terribly squishy 😊.

More X-rays and electron microscopy.

A group of us always talked about building a coil gun so we could aim it out the window at the biochemistry block and fire copper coins at it and give you nerds heart attacks :D

Aaaand now I have a sudden urge to buy a diffraction grating so I can look at some pretty emission spectra again.

There's a spherical cow joke in there somewhere.

Why pick on poor defenceless biochemists?

So we all wanna fuck like...humans...lol, but absent visual cues, we females have to arouse the male of the species, and we all know visual cues work real well on males (yep, that old PGF2α receptor at work, guys) so rather than physical changes, we adorn ourselves with feathers LOL. Well, and lingerie, or clothes or whatever, and you guys respond as per cues, and its game on..... so when you eye a human female in a bikini and experience sexual arousal, its your genetic ancestry hard at work - thats the way males evolved, and thats the way females evolved. The actual variations on the display itself are mopre cultural, but the need to display and the arousal as a response to that display are deeply rooted in our common inter-species ancestry.

Your PGF2α receptor is now hard at work if you're a male.....

Sorry, what was the question?

I got distracted.
