No matter how many journalistic fluff pieces assert the contrary, this won’t be.

Under existing arrangements, governance must serve two factions; only together do these factions constitute the ruling class.

Neither faction can govern alone. Both need what only the other can provide. But the arrangement is not easy. The alliance stands on mutual necessary but hostile accommodations. The class interests of these two factions clash on every issue.

In normal times, those constant, ongoing frictions and hostilities are hidden from public view. In times of crises, these hostilities cannot be hidden and break into public view.

Loathed as much as he is loved, Trump’s incarceration would signal the repudiation of the arrangement by which alone the ruling class can subjugate and dominate the working [proletarian] class.

As the two ruling class factions break out in open warfare against each other, it would be expected that this division would be replicated in the proletarian class, as both ruling factions were joined by supporting workers. This would be the ignoble end of the Great Experiment.

So I’m calling a bluff.

i'd say it's highly unlikely. he'll not even be seen in cuffs.

from sources i've read, if he is indicted, he most likely will be ordered to submit himself to the authorities; i'd think he'd be taken to the closest 'safe' police station, booked and bailed(?), and released until his claims of appeal have worked their way through court/s.

as much as i'd personally love to see him in cuffs, being 'per-walked' like a regular person, i'm pretty sure the concerns for general public safety will keep it as low key as possible, his lawyers stating a perp-walk would put him at personal risk from those who'd wish him harm, while the AG/local police would make noise about keeping the magatty nutjobs to a minimum.

p.s during the 'booking', he'll get his mug shot, be fingerprinted and a sample of his DNA collected(?)

is the dna sample a given or can he refuse to supply one? also, his and Carroll's attorneys have agreed on just the one case (if i remember this rightly), and his dna cannot be used in part of the evidence package now since trump allowed the time to run out to supply it: the show he made after that of offering it and seeing it refused was just that... the judge was aware it would delay the trial even further. It IS a shame, though, since admission of the dna would provide solid evidence if it matches with that still on Carroll's clothes.
