Rye bread isn't too difficult apparently, I've just never made the effort.

Just learned to bake ordinary wheat rolls well a few years back, when it was already clear I'd only make them for my family and friends, not myself. There's this touch you got to learn to make good ones. Not too tough dough, as my mom always did.

That's why I asked my MIL to teach me. Hand in hand.

A pinch of salt is easy, btw. It's literally that, how much you get by pinching from a bowl.
 
I figure a recipe is a guide. Try it once by the book. After that you tweak it to what tastes good to you.
When you baking with yeast it's usually best to learn how the dough feels in your hands. As the quality (especially moisture content) of the flour varies and that affects the result considerably. Even the same brand will vary depending on year and how it's been stored.

I only wish... But I got a few things done. Don't have to arrange stuff tomorrow before grabbing the vacuum cleaner. Also bag ready for errands. Might try to do some trimming still tonight.

But right now a cup tea and some sandwiches. And they melatonin. Meaning I'll be wanting to duck under covers in an hour. Earlier than last night.

Ok i have thawed out boneless chicken breasts in the fridge. What should i make for dinner? I was thinking either Japanese curry or Indian tikka masala. Both store bought sauces. Im thinking if I can find some trader joes garlic nann, ill do the tikka masala and Japanese curry if i cant find any nann. Leave it up to fate?
