Love that song! Been forever since I heard it. Thank you!My morning song of hope - the chorus always brings tears to my eyes… I’m such a freak!
Joan Jett - Light Of Day
I have only kept it in the fridge for cooking (e.g. mustard), in that purpose works fine. I recommend cooling down right away what you intend to put there.Actual coffee question:
Does anyone have suggestions for how to brew coffee in a pot at home without wasting half of it? We ditched our Keurig to save money and reduce waste but now we regularly waste half a pot of coffee on Saturdays.
We only make about "4-6 cups" worth because that's the smallest amount the pot has measurements for.
Does home brewed coffee hold up well in the fridge for cold brews the next day?
Cold brew is different than hot brewed coffee.Actual coffee question:

Oh, you're right. What I meant was iced coffee.Cold brew is a brewing “ soaking “ process. It’s not simply iced coffee. Hot brewed coffee, cold brewed coffee both can be iced coffee.
Wait till it cools down and put a lid on it!Actual coffee question:

The line “just around the corner from the light of day” to me, just screams hope! Things are about to get better. It always lifts me up.Love that song! Been forever since I heard it. Thank you!![]()
Where at in Pennsylvania? The wife and I are born & raised, Philadelphia, Pennsylvaniansyou can make the coffee, fill a plastic cup (not a glass) full of ice, pour in the coffee and stir... iced coffee... and then add any flavoring you want... and you don't have to wait
I'm very familiar with that area. I used to do some work a little north of there.Lehigh Valley area
Just need to grumble a bit. Been a rough morning. So tired I can barely focus. Dad won't shut up and I had to get irritated at him for not telling the cardiologist something yesterday. Had to talk to my brother to explain a procedure they want to perform on Dad. My back hurts. Had to start some laundry. Need a bath. Probably need to slop the hogs. . .
(Grumble grumble grumble)
Do you need to plug in to someone to recharge?Feeling grumbly myself... killed a bottle of wine last night after a phone call with my mother about her husband in the hospital. This morning I am totally exhausted and have a shit ton of work to do AND have to drive 2.5 hours each way to get my daughter at college after that.
Fuck.
The issue with coffee is if it stays on a burner, or loses much of the steam, then it tends to get bitter. I find that if I put the excess into an insulated mug for later it is not bitter.Actual coffee question:

I like it strong, if its brewed, but I usually end up with instantThe issue with coffee is if it stays on a burner, or loses much of the steam, then it tends to get bitter. I find that if I put the excess into an insulated mug for later it is not bitter.

I could use a plug in, but there no outlet handy for me to put in my prong.Do you need to plug in to someone to recharge?
Same here - I grind my own beans with a burr grinder (not chop), that I add to the brewer baasket and none is wasted. As I drink at least 2 - 3 cups, I never have left overs. An interesting coffee maker is the one where the coffee carafe is a thermos (Mocha Master).I have a machine, I grind the beans directly into the filter and then clip the filter in and start the process. No wasted coffee, other than the bit left in my cup. The one thing the purists hate about my process is the beans that are left in the hopper, I try and keep it half full. Quite honestly I would never be able to taste the difference. Coffee house coffee always tastes better no matter what![]()
