I’d say they fall somewhere between lingerie and toys. Meaning like lingerie you might want to dress up and surprise your partner. Otherwise, like toys, your partner might really enjoy inserting it themselves

You can get them in different materials. Butt plugs are typically the Silicone. The tails are usually stainless. But yes, you can find them in mixed material.
Start small. Don't let your eyes be bigger than your butthole Lube, lube, lube.

Finding positions that work for you to put them in can be funny.

For me. Depends on what I'm using it for. Just pictures and dress up. Me. Actually, the tails are almost always me. Butt plugs can be my partner though. That is fun.

I have before. But you have to watch the positions when you do. Tails aren't fun to clean. (the fur part)

Agree with @LadyLascivious1 - If she is surprising me, she handles it on her own. If we are headed to an LS party or our local club she always likes me to help her and check everything before we go. So it all depends.
