Sorry, I've never heard of them. It's notable - as seen on this thread - how specific people's musical tastes can be. Some people don't know what I'm talking about, while I don't who they are referring too.

Okay, I'm confused, which isn't hard to do. Could you please explain or expand on the bolded part?

As far as posting it a year ago, I very well might have. Asking me what I did a year ago is futile. I have difficulty remembering what I had for supper two days ago!

Okay, what I meant was that I sometimes will post a song or even a songwriter or band that a lot of other people have never heard of it. Conversely, other people will post a song that I've never heard of. Like I never would have heard of Broken Peach if you hadn't mentioned them. And that list that jaFo posted above us: I've only heard of Tangerine Dream and none of the rest. (I hardly know what New Age music is.) Yes, I could look them up, but I spend too much time on AH as it is. Anyway, many if not most people are in their own cultural boxes even if they don't realize it.

If I may elaborate, it often has to do with a person's age, regional location, or certainly their ethnic identity. Like, I'm pretty weak with hip-hop or reggae. I hear a lot of songs in Spanish up here, but: are they Dominican, Puerto Rican, Mexican songs? I have no idea. The guy who owns the discount store is from Yemen, and he's often playing songs in Arabic.

P.S.: Plus, popular culture by it's very nature is often changing and is sometimes quite ephemeral.

An under-rated group from the 60's - Moody Blues. Or try Journey. Already mentioned is Pink Floyd. I like some of Bruce Springsteen.

I'm old and I find it fascinating that my sons are so in the music I grew up with from the 60s, 70s, and especially the 80s. Today's music can't hold a candle to the time when music was real.

I didn't know who a lot of these artists were before I stumbled onto them. Many of the ones above posted by others either have no information as to style or influence and some don't even list artist or album/track. I have all videos blocked, so I wouldn't see it if it was contained there. I try to provide some context when I make a suggestion.

Simon mentioned light jazz, so I can add Lonnie Liston Smith and Jon Faddis who both do that style. Oscar Peterson and Cedar Walton are jazz pianists with large libraries and range. Stan Kenton was big orchestra jazz (he once boasted about having seven trombone players in his orchestra) who went into progressive jazz. His last album was Journey Into Capricorn which is hard to describe, other than to say progressive orchestral jazz. It includes tracks written by Stevie Wonder, Hank Levy and Chick Corea. The title track and Celebration Suite are very large sounding, dramatic and enthusiastic pieces.

Do you mean you block all videos from Literotica? On your own initiative? Just curious, why would you do that?

It varies. There is some good music nowadays, but you have to dig a bit to find it. The mainstream outlets are rarely the place to find it.

Earle was quite honest about his problems. Here he's obviously high on something, and he doesn't even look like his usual self. He knew how to deal with hecklers, however.

Been on a Samara Joy binge lately. She’s a 23-year-old Jazz singer whose vocal tone is reminiscent of the greats. Just won a Grammy and in my opinion, her work is sublime:

Then I just found this, the soundtrack of Persuasion - the Austen remake. Haven’t watched the film (heard it’s bad so don’t bother) but the music is wonderful. The title track is by Birdy - Quietly Yours:

Yep, downtown Brooklyn, among other places. Surely it's implied that the truck driver did all three of them off-camera. (The symbolism of the peeled bananas.)
