Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

I'm the other way around. I have a "poor body image." Not so much about my weight (I'm fat and that's OK), but my face. I've had some bad experiences with that. So I'd rather not see who I'm talking to.
Thats sad. I think the pandemic taught us that we lose a lot when we cant see peoples faces. Your smile or smirk is worth seeing even if you dont think it looks like the ideal.

I feel handicapped if I can’t see the face of who I am talking to, I can’t read whether my odd sense of humor is good for them or not, or how they react to what is going on. The masks freaked me out completely.

I'm kinda the same way. I often pause between speaking thoughts, and people sometimes interpret this in different ways. I like to be understood so face to face is always better.

Hi Cascadia - good to see you. Been a busy start to the new year, hopefully things will smooth out so I can enjoy the rest of winter.
Have you been having some unusual weather this winter? I know northern CA got a bunch of snow and cold in the last few days - more than usual. But seemed like southern CA was getting some extra stormy weather too.

I hope things quiet down for you. I can not believe it is almost MARCH!

All bodies are different RJ.
Not everyone experiences the same feelings. Women’s nipples are more sexualized and therefore “supposed to be” or are often portrayed as more sensitive but are they actually?? I’d say no.
From my limited relationships with women, I agree it varies and is unique. Also things change with aging too.

We've been getting over the normal level of rain, not much, but over. After five years of drought it just seems unusual. Otherwise I'd say it's been a typical California winter here in the bay area. We had the one really big storm (the atmospheric river/pineapple express). We've got snow on the mountains around us (the Santa Cruz Mountains to the south and the inland range, down to about three thousand feet, which is cool - but happens once or twice a year in a normal winter).

It snowed on the beach and the mountains are accumulating snow. Even a highway was closed...It is not normal for here 😜
Don't make it sound casual!! This is a blizzard by my definition 🤣🤣

Couldn’t agree more. So much of communication is non verbal and not seeing faces completely made that insanely difficult!

Honestly, at the beach, it is just what east coasters call a wintry mix but when the water absorbs into the sand it looks like snow.
The mountains will get a dusting that only sticks every few years. Accumulating is a totally different situation.

I saw that video from Highway 17 this morning - that was pretty awesome! Not often you see blowing snow like that on that particular pass. I've always joked that the day it snows here in the South Bay, I'm moving to San Diego. (Though, a friend of mine told me it actually snows more in San Diego than here.)

It’s wild! No going into the office for me today!

Little known fact: Canada instituted their own Victoria Cross (separate from Britain's) in 1993, and it has never been awarded.
There is an on-going campaign to have one awarded to very deserving vet of Afghanistan, but the Defense Department is dragging its feet. Thirty years. We suck at this.
