Very common for anyone identified as a woman. Men wanting online sex.

It’s always guys with me. They will quote something I posted and then proceed to tell me all about themselves. I would normally never have seen them before, anyway my response is for them to read my profile very carefully and then I generally don’t hear from them again.

Oh, they even bother quoting something?

For me the unknown guys never do. The ones quoting have been people I know from the threads already.

That actually happened to me when I was vulnerable and 3 months after my wife passed away. I was nearly scammed and so many red flags that I ignored until the big one - asking for money via gift card! That is when I sought grief counseling. I also tell this story as maybe it might help someone who is grieving.

You can turn it around on a scammer and and try to sell them an extended car warranty. Tell them youre concerned their warranty is expiring.

You got that right. Vulnerable and feeling desperate for intimacy are what got me to even get that far in the scammers web. It's been 6 months since she passed and I am feeling much more confident in what I am looking for in my future.

On the topic of relaxing with a drink, I used to make coffee with Baileys Irish Cream. Also I wonder about cultural differences in how we relax.

For example, I suggested a foot massage to my persian lady friend and she said in her culture, touching of the feet was too personal. I then said what about the calf muscle and she said that was OK. I was surprised. My wife loved the foot massage.

Lol, Scammer or not, I used to start pushing them to buy life insurance. Take over the conversation, dig into their family life, work benefits, some, unbelievably get sucked right in. Others can't get off the phone fast enough.

Mostly nowadays, I just block and move on. I have little time anymore for messing with the scammers.
