I am a D so mostly get away with it, but don't like a lot of padding or seams cutting through my nipples. It's a warm climate here. I treat myself when in Bangkok or Tokyo with a couple of lingerie seamstresses that custom make.
You'd think NZ would have a better selection, not exactly the itty bitty capital.

D2 works casual at BnT and says 14 and 16 fly out the door as soon as they get stock so maybe back order it online? 16D is a sister size to 14DD so maybe try the fit and see what you back up is. Handy having her there as her corporate discount is pretty tasty.
