And over a long campaign of seduction, manipulation, and malpractice lead him so far down that rabbit hole by the time she is done with him he will be all but mentally gelded. Maybe the guy isn't some asshole shark destroying lives in his quest for victory -- maybe HER husband is that asshole guy. Meanwhile, our guy is standing strong - standing up for truth, justice, and the American way - or whatever. That fifth generation family business where everyone is valued, which gives back to the community, blah blah blah. (It's one thing for an asshole to get his comeuppance - it's another thing altogether to see some nice guy who didn't do anything wrong being manipulated by an evil manipulative woman - or couple - and watch him fall.)

But that's just me. I'm sure I'll love the story regardless.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I first conceived the story like you suggested. The male protagonist not quite an asshole, merely competitive. That would have made the female protagonist more evil, rather than just an agent of justice, so to speak. It seemed a little harder to give the story motive force. Particularly because I expect the male protagonist to put up a fight, try to assert his usual primacy, but lose of course. In any case, first chapter of this story line is already out.
