It is. And it can’t be learned. Like when you hear someone play an instrument because they can or should, beautiful. But when someone plays or sings and it’s like you’ve been invited into their soulI think music is the sound of emotion. At least to me it is.
I think that for a lot of music.I think music is the sound of emotion. At least to me it is.
Because sometimes it’s too much emotion. Especially if you’re a feeler… oi, not that kindI think that for a lot of music.
But sometimes I just want some meaningless catchy pop shit made by committee.
I am such a puss, I dig up this song when I am at the end of my rope, without hope. And it makes me cry and feel like there is a chance I might make it through.I think music is the sound of emotion. At least to me it is.
Heard this song and movie in my head as I read these posts: We all need someoneto loveI think music is the sound of emotion. At least to me it is.
There's music for both kinds of feelersBecause sometimes it’s too much emotion. Especially if you’re a feeler… oi, not that kind![]()
On a related note some friends and I MANY years ago were going on about our lack of girlfriends and/or sex. We went around, each describing what they wanted at that moment. We got to the last guy, (and I'll never forget this) and he said "I want to lay my head in Kate Bush's lap and have her play with my hair and sing to me." We all stopped and cursed him out because it was so much better than our nonsense. It is. And it can’t be learned. Like when you hear someone play an instrument because they can or should, beautiful. But when someone plays or sings and it’s like you’ve been invited into their soulTHAT’s music. No purer beauty on earth (in my opinion)
And of course right as I say I want some meaningless pop shit my playlist entered its wistful section and now it's Noah Kahan's "Stick Season" and I super don't have that song in me right now.Because sometimes it’s too much emotion. Especially if you’re a feeler… oi, not that kind![]()

Oh yeah - that one can make me cry too.Heard this song and movie in my head as I read these posts: We all need someoneto love
And she is so cool!I am such a puss, I dig up this song when I am at the end of my rope, without hope. And it makes me cry and feel like there is a chance I might make it through.
I think Joan Jett is like the female counterpart to George Thorogood. Very iconic, massively huge sound, but their songs power is in their simplicity and honesty. And she is so cool!
I listened to The Runaways in my early teens and loved them! Her solo career isn't bad either.
I am such a music coward - I have actively disliked Peter Gabriel for nearly 40 years. As a human, I am positive he has some good songs, and powerful messages… but what I heard back then made me learn to avoid his stuff completely - so I won’t listen to that, even though it might be something I would end up loving. Because I am a music coward. This is magnificent.

So - do you remember the Wilson Picket version of this song? Much earlier than the Blues Brothers of course. That is the version I knew well.Heard this song and movie in my head as I read these posts: We all need someoneto love

Curiously, the picture they show during this vid has Jimi Hendrix on guitar behind Wilson. I now need to look up if Jimi played on this (pretty sure he had left the band already).
