Maybe this is a stoopid ask BUT what is the difference between the Chinese New Year and the Lunar New Year?

The festival that is frequently referred to as 'Chinese New Year' is not only celebrated in China. The term 'Lunar New Year' is increasingly used to refer to festivals in other countries that take place at the same time and with many of the same traditions as in China.

Actually this is wrong, other countries can’t celebrate at the same time - Timezones people!!!!

That was kind of my guess. Chinese sounds too limited for something that isn't just chinese.

Actually this is wrong, other countries can’t celebrate at the same time - Timezones people!!!!

Even China can't celebrate at the same time because of time zones

But Korea is on the same time zone with parts of China, thus celebrating at the same time. Same applies with countries south of China.

Speaking of stress, soon I venture out to transport my grandchildren - 4 hours of driving by the time I am done. The morning news reports some spots with icy roads and thus accidents. Can not wait to avoid the crazy and too fast for conditions drivers. Sigh. Looking for that "peaceful easy feeling" .
