Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

Not to be dissuaded from our quest... we carried on. Now with some food in our bellies but we are kinda like gobsmacked at what had just happened.

So we re-park closer to the center of town and then walk about 8-10 blocks to check a few places from the street. The former coffee shop that is now advertising as an event center (It was a LARGE coffee shop - you know - PNW style - we LOVE our coffee). Another local brewery that serves food (decent food, decent beer) that we seem to think might have a party room possibility. We look in on that and decide it just looks... idk a bit sad. A bit scruffy. Nope.
And then, after getting yelled at by a homeless person having some kind of mental health crisis from across a street, we look in on another building where I have attended events pre covid. The restaurant in the same building has changed from hippy vegie fare to a Mexican steak house... it is one of these older buildings with a gracious entryway and a fireplace. A double stairway that curve upwards to a balcony. Such good bones and nice architecture. But.. there is not a stitch of furniture in this space that could be beautiful and welcoming... again... all of this together just seems a bit depressing and lost opportunities.

Altogether I am going to call this Strike 3

Anyway - Still have two new micro distilleries that have appeared since covid. Have to drive to the far end of the county where they have set up shop in newer industrial buildings in a semi rural area. I feel hopeful. I love checking out new places. And hey - they might have great beer - right?

I'm naively hopeful that somehow this act of the story will lead to good things for our heroine!

Darling, you're doing great. Keep going. 🙂
Thanks darling... carrying on.

We go to the first place. The have an outdoor carpark kinda tent set up outside for "covid safe" drinking. It looks a little unwelcoming. Mr Cas says - maybe we should skip this one. I disagree - and point out that if we were on vacay and stumbled across this place, we would definitely at least go in and see what they got going.
I had looked at their website - started by two guys who are New Jersey transplants... we joke as we walk up - WHAT EXIT DUDE???
