Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

It was a diesel. Thanks 😊

And the bikes were farm bikes and I was too young to notice. Dad got all yelly though 🤣

Sorry dad. I probably owe you a few bikes now
A fun story (I think) is that I for a while in the mid 80's worked at a gardener as a machine operator/driver. I had a Mercedes lorry to my disposal and it was an old diesel engine. When the temperature dropped below freezing point the preheating and cold start (increasing fuel) wasn't enough, I also had to pump the gas pedal while running the starter. When it finally ignited, I filled the whole yard with thick black smoke!:giggle:

Depends on what ails you, and aren’t you the medical guy? 🤷🏻‍♀️
Plus I’m sure that much like other sites we’re not to give out medical advice
TheraFlu made me feel worse.
I'm doing my normal tea with honey, hydrating, and chicken noodle soup.
There are a lot of things that people grew up with that works for them, better than a Z-pack.

A couple posts up I ranted about a guy sending PMs. I replied to the one I got this morning and told him to stop. I was nice, but if he sends me something else I will not be nice again.
I’d be interested to know his name. I have had a similar issue from a dude in here. I’ll have a look back 😊. And thank you, sometimes it’s too hard to check the thread thoroughly 🤣

When I took my drivers license, new cars still had manual choke. (My motorcycle still has, but it's old)
Even I have driven the 2nd phase of drivers licence exam (which is done with your "own" car, not the driving school's), I borrowed my sister's old car with manual choke.

We never used to be able to ignore Mods either. I don’t know if that is still the case because I haven’t tried (and I never would block @ToPleaseHim)
I don’t know if it’s possible. There are more limitations for me than there used to be.

I am able to ignore folks, but if they post in the forums I mod, it just makes things harder for me. I have a lot from the GB on ignore, lol (granted, many many of them are Busybody).

Do people ignore mods? I have a very small but specific collection of people on ignore 🤣. As I’m sure most members do.
Although I’d say the same people would be on many of ours

Anybody have any "home remedies" that you use when you're sick???

I feel like shit and can't keep much down right now.
Assuming it's an ordinary flu...

- if you start taking enough zink acetate within 24h from the start of the flu, it may ease it, even make it shorter (according to science). It should be a spray or lozenge to work. The right amount is far more than you can safely take daily in the long run, but it's just for a few days.
- Drink lots, especially hot - tea and berry juices. One good option is ginger tea with lemon and honey, they all help. And if there's nobody to pamper you, a thermos is practical.
- Make sure you get plenty of vitamin C and B
- Honey for a cough, it beats the over-the-counter meds and tastes better
- If you are aching, paracetamol or ibuprofen depending on what works for you
- Caffeine may make you feel a little better
- Some throat pastilles if you have a sore throat. I prefer Strepsils, but those are indeed meds and you can't be having one constantly, only every 2-3h, so I might have another, non-med sort in betweem.
- Rest as much as you can and stay warm. Eat something, preferably with plenty of vitamins etc.

I think that's pretty much it.
