ouch. yeah at least it is only 9 hours. some can just go on and on. Once, I was sitting as an expert on a bridge that was almost 60 hours, straight. yeah, you best yell my name real loud a few times if you want me, as fuck it, I'm asleep lol.

OK...what's a "bridge" or is this constructing engineering? And why would it take 60 hours....I'm so confused...

for me, a bridge is basically where important shit is going on, like launching something new, or some sort of catastrophic failure. people who are highly versed in different parts of the project sit there, so when boots on the ground have a question, they can come on and ask it.

the 60 hour one was a rather catastrophic situation relating to flooding and some very important gear was just toast. now most people can't do anything, like I can't rebuild a switch config, until there is fiber and a switch, there will be no fiber and switch until there is electricity, there will be no electricity until there is no water. but because it is really bad and important, everyone wants do be able to say it is actively being worked with high importance. so yeah, they are on the bridge actively working on restoration. so yeah, we all got stuck there for corporate politics.
