In the immortal words of Forrest Gump, “Life is a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get!” What does that have to do with this thread? Well I think you can replace the word “life” in the quote with “The Chaos thread” and have a fitting thread motto. Because at any moment in time one decides to drop in here, we never know what the hell we may be dropping in on!

Furthermore, I believe the Chaos thread has become the center of the Playground world. It’s hard to disagree with 79,000 posts and 528,000 views!

I think it is also a health check for the rest of the board too. It’s pretty much like one of those playground merry-go-rounds…I want to get on and spin around. If the Playground is slow at that moment, it’s much easier to slip in and hop on. But if there’s a lot of activity going on in the playground, sometimes Chaos is spinning so fast that it just flings me back into space without a clue of what’s going on in here! It’s like trying to post only to find out you are already five pages behind at the speed of light!

I am responsible for more of the 528,000 views than I am for the 79,000 posts. But I do enjoy looking in to throw in a comment here and there before it speeds up and hurtles me back into space once again.

So, carry on and have fun. I’ll continue to run around the outside and hop on when Chaos achieves turtle speed!

though, I don't really think it is as much the center as the water cooler off in the corner. The post count is inflated as many of those who are active here, are very active here. This is in part due to the fact that even the people who don't fit, fit here. Also, some of us just never shut up (by us I mostly mean me). I think many other threads have more participants, just not the dedication. Some of us just really love Chaos. I'd say it is my lit home, which is surprising as for years my lit home was not the playground at all. I just can't resist chaos. You should hop in more often. It grows on you.
