I've never quite understood why people are unable to separate being submissive, or giving control in sex, and being a pushover or wimp in general. I think some readers are not confident in their masculinity and feel threatened by female characters who are strong or dominant. For them, a female character cannot make a mistake or do something she regrets, which they would accept from a male.

Back on topic, I wrote a story where two characters switch dom and sub roles. Quite a good story if I say so myself, but hardly anyone has ever read it in nearly 3 years. Only ever got one comment:

I thought I was done with my Character Alistaire after his first series, until I got so many comments begging me to pay off the hints at the future I'd laid in as throwaway color, that I went back and wrote a second six-part follow-up, that got great reviews, and amazing view numbers for a sequel.
So good thought for the readers, too: Ask, and you might get!
