I'm sure there is enough talent here to form a band - LOL - and record one album then immediately break up over fighting over creative differences/control.

I always joke that everyone can sing - whether they can sing well is another story. But, it's really not necessary - just consider all the successful artists who really can't sing (technically) very well.

with today’s technology they can pitch correct easily… part of why I don’t listen to “today’s” music. 🤣🤣🤣

A couple of years ago Madonna was performing on live tv at a song contest. Not as a contender, but as an intermission(?). I can't remember today what song she performed, but she was way off key for at least the two first lines into the song. My hole family sat here with our jaws dropped. We did not expect that! It didn't take long before it was on youtube and among others, and it didn't take long before they had erased the clip and replaced it with a tuned one.

The band might disintegrate, but Chaos would still not!

Oh yes. There's a yearly tango competition in Finland, and some years everyone in the final had troubles finding the exact pitch. (I happen to be rather precise in terms of relative pitch - thankfully I don't have absolute ear though - and rhythm.)

@Cogan Yeah, a lot of "performances" are really just giant lip synch/pretend to play exercises, where the technical team behind the scenes is actually doing all the work and the band/performer is just fronting and posing. That's okay, if that is what is expected.

I wonder what would happen if we pushed a kazoo through an auto-tuner? (LOL - and the immediate answer that popped into my mind was "Beyonce".)

I think Madonna has even spoken about her not being a good singer. I believe she still takes lessons.

Which is more than can be said about many lesser musicians. (Well, my cousin is usually the one giving lessons... but then again there aren't many better players left in the world to take lessons from.)

I don't come anywhere close to precise pitch, though my rhythm is good. I've always envied people with an abundance of natural talent. I am more of a learned talent person. LOL - the metronome was my friend.

My ear is better than my ability to sing to the pitch nowadays... and maybe I never quite trained singing enough. My instrument was violin.

And for anyone wondering about the age and price of my violin: it wasn't that rare for teenage violinists in our orchestra to have an old violin like that. Not everybody did, but I think easily some 20% did. Some of us continued to become professionals, some of us didn't. (I am not the only engineer in that group.)

I actually feel kind of bad for keeping my treasure out of circulation... maybe I should sell it so that it would be played again. (And frankly it's not really wise to keep an unused object of that value, with my budget.)
