Now... this picture is towards the center of this big suburb (some 30 000 inhabitants in this suburb alone). And there are big apartment complexes behind that street. Yes. I am not kidding. Taken at another moment there would even be a bus in that pic (mon-fri every 10 min).

In the Show Us Your Face thread I posted this pic and someone asked me about my necklace. A close friend made it for me with Hawaiian beach glass. The big piece for the Big Island, our ancestral home for centuries. And Oahu where my Great Grandfather moved to find work. Wound up starting a family and my Aunt/Cousin/Cousin’s 4 kids still live in the Kaimuki home he bought.

Green is because I’m a commoner in Kanaka Maoli society. Yellow is our royalty, the Ali’i, and Red is for the equivalent of the noble class.
