It's never to late to try your hand at it again, I find most people who say they have no talent at it just need practice. Or they just need to find there own style of art. And if it's about criticism just look at van Gogh if he had listened to his critics and given up we wouldn't have his paintings today. So I say give it a try again sometime. Even if just doodling with your kid to have fun.As for the artist discussion I missed out on, I’ve alway admired artists in their many forms. When I was little, I always wanted to be an artist. A painter or drawer specifically. Always had an artist’s drive. Unfortunately, I do not have an artist’s talent. I simply cannot take what I see in my head and transfer that to canvas/paper. So I gave up on that dream.![]()
I absolutely agree with this. Just do something... don't aim for perfection... if you can capture anything of a childlike creativity and freedom from adult self critique, you are on the right track. It's never to late to try your hand at it again, I find most people who say they have no talent at it just need practice. words are there own kind of creativity. do not underestimate the artistic possibilities of words. the loins of lions will be with you.I’m a perfectionist by nature so if it’s not exactly as I see it in my mind, it frustrates me to no end. Wasn’t for lack of practice, and I certainly had more time then than I do now. Sometimes one has to accept their shortcomings.
So I use words instead. Hard to fuck up words. Unless you use lions when you mean loins.![]()
Well I would introduce you to AI art since it's done with word prompts. But in its current state without a bit of fiddling it would be a nightmare for a perfectionist to use.I’m a perfectionist by nature so if it’s not exactly as I see it in my mind, it frustrates me to no end. Anyway I echo cascadia's sentiment above, and am glad you found creativity in your words.
Art doesn't replace the Artist, it inspires the artist to be CreativeVarious kinds, sketches like my avatar, some 3D sculpting, digital paintings, and just started experimenting with AI generated art since it's well on its way to replacing me.![]()

When I was younger, I was told I was good with physical art (design). I could have been a graphic artist, I had steady hands an vision. But, I always took easier things and partially drifted away from it. ADHD will do that. Now I have limited time on earth and unsteady hands. I still appreciate art & the artists work they produce. It a creation of the beautiful mind in all forms. Some parts of will not concede to give up, but to morph to ideas that I can do.As for the artist discussion I missed out on, I’ve alway admired artists in their many forms.
