Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

Keep the port. Everything else, yes.
Trust me. it is a fantastic cocktail. The slight bitterness of the Rye and the dry port goes very well together. (I am not a cocktail guy. My favourite cocktail is Whisky in a glass)

2 ounces Rye Whisky (I like Canadian Club 100% Rye) this replaces blended whisky or Bourbon in the original

3/4 ounce Tawny Port, replaces the Vermouth

1/4 ounce Maple Syrup, replaces the simple syrup

4 or 5 drops of Orange Bitters

A Orange Peel twist

The sun is over the yardarm someplace...

I might have to give this a try!

First..I'm not talking about you ladies, but what is it about females (in general) having to pee so much? We can just tie it in a knot (movie - Caligula).

Not to beat a dead horse. But I was treating people last night like they treated me. I don’t quite understand that I’m the bad guy in this but whatever. No doubt I was out of bounds. Nobody has answered my question of the person who attacked me originally get confronted by the thread? I’m not upset about it or even anything less than perfectly calm. just a curiosity thing. unless you take the time to go backwards in the thread, it’s not fair to jump in and start setting people straight. Chances are, a completely out of context. and that’s not specific about last night. That’s about social media in general. It’s a lot like America’s Second Amendment. We’re proven we’re not responsible enough to handle it like adults. Sadly.
There is always a learning curve on the PG. I recommend just get down into it. Be fun, silly, sexy, and caring. You can't go wrong. Time and effort show. Your effort and care do you credit over the rough start.

Now show us what you got, sexy! 😊

Almost exactly what I do. I have basically a steel box with holes in the top fitted to one large in the rear (like yours) and one smaller pan near the front. Main fire is right under the larger pan, and as the sap boils down, I transfer it to the front to cook almost the rest of the way, slower. As the smaller pan fills up, I transfer it inside to a huge kettle on the stove. Repeat until season's end, slowly boiling down inside until it's genuine syrup.

Ratio is 40:1 gallons sap to syrup. I had over fourteen gallons of syrup last spring.

We used to do this on the farm. We had built a "maple syrup camp" in the woods at the bottom of a ravine. We tapped the nearby maple trees and hung buckets to extract sap over a period of time, then poured it all in a 8 foot by 4 foot steel pan fed by a wood fire underneath. Took almost an entire night to boil it down to syrup, hence why it was a "camp".
I've spent days working sugar camp in Pennsylvania too. All wood fired with long sugar condensers. Waffle maker in the corner of the sugar shack for fresh maple syrup consumption at it's finest
