I didn't see computers in a school or computer science stuff until I was in college and I'm a fair bit younger than you. That's so interesting.
I remember when email only worked to other colleges and you had to code everything

Our high school was built 1 year before I first attended it so I am guessing that is why we got a computer.

I'm an old guy and I started programming, with graphics, at 12 (Logo lab at MIT). Comes from living in Cambridge (at the time there were more Nobel winners in Cambridge on any workday than any other country in the world).
