Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

Yep, I am old enough to remember that, first run. But in my defense, I was young enough to enjoy watching an old legend traditional Christmas show of Bing Crosby’s family. But aware enough to have an idea of who David Bowie was.
I was home from my first term at University.

Speaking of older things, what are some things you experienced as a child/young adult that a teenager today has no clue about?

For me, the biggest things would be how TV’s have changed. Like when I was a kid, my parents didn’t buy a TV with a remote, because they had children to change the channel for them. Or how video games only worked on channel 3. Or when you stayed home from school because you were sick, watching The Price Is Right was a necessary part of your cure along with Vics vapor tub, chicken noodle soup, and a Sprite.

Oh, I definitely remember the no remote thing! And just having to watch a show at a certain time... no vcrs to record even!

Recording the radio onto a cassette so you could listen to your favorite songs when you wanted to.

Or how if one of the three channels didn’t come in perfectly because it was cloudy that day, you had to go outside and manually adjust the antenna while shouting “is it clear yet?!” through the wall.

Our first VCR was the size of a microwave, I swear to god. 🤣

Dial up internet. I can still hear it.

Almost everyone I knew in H.S. had a manual transmission. I don’t know if they even make stick shifts anymore.

They do! Especially Hondas. I've looked at several used cars lately and some of the most affordable are manual, which I don't know how to drive (except in theory) but feel like I should learn. It's useful for traveling!
