Personally I'm a fan of the pirate sleeves. But, I like most pirate sleeves on most dresses.

One night my ex-wife and I went out to dinner, and she was wearing a dress just like post 5227, but was red not black, but with the same sort of black heels. It was the kind of dress that was so tight and stretchy that she could not wear anything underneath because if she did, the lines of her bra or panties would telegraph straight through it. Needless to say, she looked nice, but we needed grain for the chickens. So about 10 minutes before closing, she went into the feed store dressed in that little red dress and high heels and asked for a bag of chicken grain.

She said the guys inside mouths just dropped because 10 minutes before going home, they did not expect to see that in a Podunk Hardware Store. I am sure the security cameras had to be run and rerun the next day because none of their off-work coworkers would have believed them on what walked in the night.

As a side note, she did not have to worry about teetering on heels while carry a 50 pound bag of grain, she had plenty of help getting it to the car.

I agree. I am not sure what their height is regarding the picture you cited, but I would guess around 2-1/2 inches. I am not a fan of the "kitten heels" made so famous in the 1980's, but I think 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 inches of heel is about right.

Four inches on a very formal occasion can work for sure, but anything over that and to me, just from the practicality of it, I consider them bedroom-only heels because no poor girl should be expected to wear them too far. But that is just my opinion.

As someone who is expected to dress a certain way I agree completely. Plus, I'm already almost six-feet-tall in my nylons. 2-1/2" is perfect imho. The only time I ever wear anything over a 4" heel is when I know I don't have far to go and they make my outfit.

Surprisingly, I see the highest heels from ladies at church. One particular lady; perhaps 60-65 years old, ALWAYS wears a whopping four-inch heel to church. She looks fine, and not overdone, but as stated before, I always bought shoes for my girlfriend or wife in the 3-1/2 inch range just because it seemed appropriate for church as well as evenings out.
