He didn't tell them, nor even hint to them, that he was going to announce a withdrawal date. Once he did, he hadn't left enough time for an orderly withdrawal. It was entirely TRUMP'S fault that it was a shambles.

Instead, Kabul fell on August 15, just weeks before Biden’s withdrawal deadline, and thousands of Afghans, many of whom worked alongside American troops, descended on Kabul Airport in a desperate attempt to escape the country. Americans were stunned by images of Afghans clinging to a U.S. military plane as it took off, with several men falling to their death on the tarmac. Shortly afterward, a suicide bombing outside the airport killed 13 American troops and 170 others.

For those closely involved in Afghanistan — veterans, immigration advocates and others who served in the country — the abandonment of Afghan allies was a personal betrayal.

But the timescale he set was too short for him or anyone to have a reasonable withdrawal and NOT telling his allies was almost criminal. Given the time he set, leaving civilians behind was inevitable.

If Trump is ever elected again, the US's allies would be very reluctant to take part in any joint operation.

Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL), a National Guard Green Beret colonel, said there has been “zero accountability” for the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan one year ago, with Americans and permanent legal residents still stuck inside the country.

“Zero accountability, not one official resigned, not one official fired. Zero, zilch. Even the Brits and Danes had a foreign minister and a defense minister resign over how they handled the withdrawal and they were furious with the Biden administration,” Waltz said in an interview with Breitbart News this week.

"Not only is it zero accountability, you’ve got the president of the United States saying it was an outstanding success. And I think that’s what so many veterans find so insulting,” he added.

“The American people saw with their own eyes how poorly this was planned, how poorly it was executed. But I think the people that deserve accountability the most are the families that had their loved ones put in an impossible situation. There have been zero investigations or hearings since from Congress. I think this administration clearly just wants it to go away,” he said.

Americans stayed in Afghanistan because they wanted to, and the military didn’t force them out. Some people think that they should have been forced out against their will.

Thank God Biden did what needed to be done and no other president had done, even those who weren't left in zero transition cooperation chaos as Trump left Biden. He pulled the plug on the draining of American lives and resources with, as is clear a year later, minimal damage, especially to soldiers being sacrificed there to multiple administrations' failures to improve or end the situation. No outside force that has tried to "solve" the Afghanistan tragedy has done so back to the beginning of time.

Biden said he'd withdraw and he did. Every single person in the country knew we were leaving over a year before we actually did. Every single person knew, thanks to 45, that the Taliban would be in charge after we left. Anyone still in the country should've gotten out long before.

Yeah, blame Biden, Blame Trump, Blame Calvin Coolidge, but remember this; the United States military was in Afghanistan for nearly TWO DECADES.

And in those two decades, Four presidential administrations, and tens of billions of taxpayer dollars spent, The U.S. ultimately failed at one thing: Propping up the Afghan government and training it's military to be self-sufficient and fight for their own country. Instead, the Afghan government in a sense was taking advantage of the U.S. military, by having us fight their wars for them. So the bottom line was, when it came time for the Afghan military to step it up and fight for their country- they simply refused to do so. They cut and ran, and left the U.S. military holding the bag. And conveniently let Biden take the blame.

It was not Biden's fault. I don't even think it was Trump's fault. Blame the Afghan government sponging off the U.S. and their military, and refusing to do their part and fight for their country- which had been the original goal when the U.S invaded it 21 years ago.
