I almost actually laughed out loud, that was great. Are you an Invincible fan? The amazon show anyway, I've never read the comics
You got to read the comics. I enjoyed season 1 so far, the first episode really set the tone for the rest of the series. However, you've got to read the comics. So much more enriching

When you said 'think, default, think' that really took me back to the last episode.
Dang, I tried to read the comics with the Boys but I just couldn't get into them. It's like the show had ruined it for me. I'll give it a go with Invincible though, they're taking fucking forever with season 2

Think default think was a Back to the Future reference. The Boys is an odd case. They've seriously deviatet from the source material, but doing so benifited the story. It has all of the same themes of the comic, with more substance, as the comics sacrificed some substance for shock value.

I'm 36 and I've never seen those movies. Bits and pieces here and there. I've been told ad nauseum that I'm missing a crucial piece of Americana. But I think I just missed the boat and if I watch them now, I'll be unimpressed? Or the hype overblown?
The comics seemed like shock value was all they wanted, right? That was how it felt

They're worth the watch. Awesome movies.

They had a story to tell. For the most part, it was the same one the show tells. It's just hard to see in the comics with all the sex and grapic violence

Back to the Future is definitely a movie you don't want to miss. In the 30+ years since its release, it hasn't lost a single bit of its humor or its charm. The American Film Registry has preserved the film as a national treasure for a very good reason.
