It’s so much trial and error with make up, I think. I have drawers full of stuff I’ve bought and it just doesn’t suit my skin. I go back to my usual brands, then I get sucked in with something new and it lands in that fucking drawer my daughter raids it and clears it out every now and again

I palm mine off on my son’s girlfriend. I bought some magic eye gel. It is supposed to reduce fine lines, lighten dark circles and reduce puffiness. Pile of fucking shit. It was expensive and made no difference. It didn’t even smell nice! I will stick to haemorrhoid cream for reducing the bags under my eyes and concealer for the dark circles

The worst was my stage make up, it was damn horrible. The main brand we had to use cracked and peeled off my face on stage I looked like a leper was dancing swan lake.
My skin just doesn't stick well with heavy products.
I do the same and then give it to the DIL who's a slightly darker shade than me so it often suits her.

Just on my way home from a meeting.
I was reflecting on that convo about what it means to be a sharp dresser as I did my minimal routine to get out the door not on scrubs and danskos... I'm not a fussy person, I don't like a lot of personal product and whatnot...but for some reason (auto correct just gave me treason.... maybe that's better?) I definitely was not gonna go to that meeting (professional not personal meeting) without doing my make-up. Why is it I don't feel fully dressed without make-up for a mtg but I can't be bothered with make-up most of the rest of the time. lol

How I wear it will obviously tend on my need and desires, but I have seriously considered tattoo eyeliner (then I know lipstick would be next on the list). Camping, I did my makeup. Homeless hippie, yup, I'd do my makeup. Makeup has provided for me over the years. Most of my teen years it assisted me with appearing much older than I was, and now since I have worn it so much, my face has taken very little sun damage so it assists double with looking young.

thanks. yeah had to do some work at work (those bastards), then went grocery shopping. Had to do some work at another site. Went to the publix on the less fancy side of town. it was ok, but the fancy publix is much better.

Chiming in about makeup - I have had horrible luck with foundation and mostly opt to not wear it. I’m pale and pink and have never found quite the right shade. I primarily just wear mascara (only Thrive now, but I used to love Max Factor’s auburn mascara from their long since canceled redhead line) and lip gloss. I get my brows tinted, too. That and mascara make a big difference for me.
