Baby momma, she and I are engaged, kinda, for I won't actually purpose until she takes it upon herself to follow through with the divorce of a past marriage from over 15 years ago. She filed before her and I ever met but he didn't sign and so technically they're still married, by her knowledge. She hasn't looked further into it since the initial situation.

Isn't there any law about if you are living separated for long enough, one can get the divorce even without the other one signing? Here that's the deal. After 2 years of continuous separation, you can just file the divorce and get it.

The separation divorce isn't automatic, one must apply for it, meaning that if both think they still want to stay married though living apart, they will.

And a thing called "common law" doesn't exist in Finland. If in Finland talking about a "common law relationship" it means cohabiting only. There are some new laws taking it into account, but still doesn't mean marriage. (For example I didn't inherit my husband because we weren't married, and he didn't have a will - not that there was anything to inherit.)
