Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

I miss Chris Farley. He was so damn funny!

If given the choice between those two dancers, I much prefer Farley's body type (and hair!) to Patrick Swayze's. I love a big guy with a warm belly to use as a pillow.
Me too, and a sense of humor is a must. He died, before I was born but I still crack up at all of his movies, skits, and cameos.

Don't feel old. I'm just young dumb and full of..... well I'm young😏
I don’t mind my age, if anything I was far more comfortable with the world 20, 30, 40 years ago than I am with this crap hole of a world today.

I am surprised to find out something that “wasn’t that long ago” to me was really 25 years ago. That is weird. 🤣🤣

In most ways I'd agree. Very much so.

I haven't experienced it myself, but it's an inevitability I'm sure

Right? It’s always weird, the ones that get me are the lists of songs Turing this many years
I’m a musician, but somewhere along the way pop music just turned into something completely unpalatable to me. I have missed out entire careers of bands that I probably would have liked if I had heard them. But for me, wading through the trash to find the gems just wasn’t worth it.

What instrument/type of music? Sorry about the music🤣

Electric guitar (I don’t play acoustic hardly ever), 5 string bass, keys predominantly Hammond organ

For style, I performed in casinos where we needed to play whatever they wanted so we did 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s pop, rock and country. The band had been around at least 25 years before I joined so they had a huge list of tunes they did but not much newer than 80’s.

Seems like yesterday, right?
Oy. That happens to me all the time. "Well it wasn't that long ago..." Only I start thinking about it and realize it was.

Oh cool. I was never talented with music. For as well as I dance, I was terrible with pace and rhythm. Go figure

I remember talking to a music executive over a few drinks, back in 1991. He mentioned that they had just introduced a "subscription service" that allowed lots of aspiring musicians to submit their stuff. "It's awful!" he lamented, "97% of it is just crap. I mean, these kids can't play their instruments, can't carry a tune. They'd be a bad garage band, and now they've got recordings out there." That was a few years before the internet took off, and I think that's what has made it worse. EVERYBODY can put their music out there, and 97% of them really shouldn't.
So, it isn't just you. ;)

Exactly. And the digital audio technology makes it so people don’t have to get their talent up, they have auto tune for people who can’t sing, sequencers, drum machines, etc. Too much relying on computers instead of people just playing music.

If it doesn’t even sound like an acoustic drum was played, I guarantee I will hate it. 🤣🤣🤣

I always wonder if an experienced musician or singer can listen to something and say whether its autotune of natural voice
