Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

About 2 people a year in FL have a shark accident. About 3 people a week either die or are dismembered due from an Alligator attack. I-75 from Naples to Miami, if you run off the road into the swamp, we don’t even go look for you. You’re just on your own.

you are wildly overestimate the death rate of alligators. we had this debate last week. lol Alligators have a bad reputation, but it is mostly just talk.

I don’t argue with anyone but in this case all I will say is I watch it happen weekly. This is a very very common thing here.
florida fish and wildlife investigates all attacks and has for 70 years. There have been 26 recorded fatalities from 1948 to 2021, they will release their new report including this year in November, like they do every year. I also suspect some of those early ones could even be body dumps due to lack of forensics, and people do try to dump bodies with alligators. Either way though, that is an 26 fatalities in 70 years. That is not very very common. yes there are more bites, but fatalities are rare, and unprovoked bites aren't all that common either (442 in 70 years is their finding). I live in swamp area. I live on a lake, in florida. I swim with alligators all the time. Apparently I am just ballsier, except everyone I know does too. Never had a bite except when young dudes catch them to show off.

They don’t investigate a car driving off into the swamp. That’s not an attack.

Happens all time on 75 between Naples and Miami.

I find that to be a big number. Here people freak about wolves, and they haven't killed anyone in about 150 years.
