He was always half drunk and slurred his words anyway, so I haven't noticed any difference. He would laugh his butt off at me saying this because in college he would try to whisper help to me when I was lost in French class discussions. I could never understand what he was saying and would get flustered.

I don’t like it either. We shorten it to fridge. Shortened even further to frig works for me and it is better than lengthening it to frigid

Right, fridge. I usually use that but it wasn't cuming (it's not a typo ) to me at that moment.
Although, in Italian we say frigo for short. So, I wasn't entirely right there either. Lazy ass. lol
