We all have our strengths and weaknesses. Most everyone has something at which they are a master. They’ve put in the time and effort to become good at a hobby, talent or their work.

But then there are areas where we just really suck. (No, not like that @JerseyJade . That would probably be your area of mastery.) Some things, no matter how hard we try, we just can’t be good at it.

I have two areas where I truly wish I was better.

1. I wish I could sing. I’m musical, but my voice is less than appealing to my ears. Probably better than your average squawker, but still not what I wish.

2. I’m not handy. Like, I can get by and I can fix some things. But father is like MacGyver. And me… nope. That is a recessive trait, it seems. I’ll end up in a pool of my own blood (and probably semen). It’s just not a natural thing for me.

What do you suck at? ()

Dancing - I don’t know whether I hate it because I can’t dance, or I just hate it. Either way, I’m not good at it, and I’m okay with that.

Sewing - I can get by sewing a button on, but don’t expect that little fucker to stay on for longer than a day. It will either be so loose it just drops off, or I’ll sew it on so flush and tight to the fabric, it is unusable.

Filling up my car with petrol before it gets to empty - self explanatory.

I hate writing. Weird...I'm published. I have won awards. But it feels like pulling teeth. Almost painful. Full of doubt. Little confidence that it is any good.

Same works when I pick up my guitar. If only I could play what is in my head

I once tried to learn how to play a guitar. A friend had one and he tried to teach me a few chords. The strings were hard to push down and I couldn't get my fingers right to make the chord. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't do it.. so yeah, I totally suck at playing a guitar.

I can sing pretty good, though.

What’s something that’s severely underrated?

For me, it’s pineapple upside down cake. It’s delicious. Yet, try ordering it at a restaurant. It’s like trying to order scrambled dodo eggs.
