Dogs are wild beasts ... predators by nature and design.

People tamed them to an extent, but it's only temporary ... they can turn at any time and have done so many times, ripping their owners to shreds with little or no warning.

One must never fully trust a dog.

Trust no, but respect a creature for who they are, understanding there is always a possibility, but not living my life in fear assuming is has to happen.

Animals, human and otherwise, act badly when they're treated badly. Humans have better weapons.

At least this seems to me more about dogs generically than pitties specifically, because they are the sweetest, most loving dogs.

Mine was a rescue, and she was so depressed when I got her, she wouldn’t bother to bark. But now, after being loved and cared for over two years, she’s a happy, lovey dog doing things dogs are supposed to do. She recovered well.

I'm also allergic to cat and dog hair so I never had a pet growing up although i wanted one.

And then I just got over it

Rescues are a lovely breed.

All my cats are rescues, with different backgrounds. The one that was catched as an adult feral is the most cuddling one, he DEMANDS hugs and cuddles. Lots of them. Even though he wouldn't let anyone close in the beginning, and he still panics if I try to pick him up. He sleeps with me.

I would never judge you! Especially not for a fear of all things. May I suggest you meet a hypoallergenic dog then if you ever get the urge.
