Idk about that. There is a fair amount of mobility up and down the coast. I'd say people in the PNW resent California money... the way someone from CA can outbid on real estate with an over asking all cash offer.
But once someone is here... the Californians get folded into society just like anyone else moving here in my experience.

When California people started moving to Washington. The people in Washington formed a group KBO. Keep the bastards out. Mainly cause the cost of real estate was going up.
I moved up there in ‘09. Started working and talking to co workers. That conversation wasn’t long. Soon as they found out I was from Cali… oh. One of them. Then they walk away.
