Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

Yeah my stepsons are both the same tell me I'm to old for it now 🙄

Just a Syrah, I like my dry wines and It's one of my own products so free 😂
The ironic thing is she was drinking 3 litres of cider a day, the kind that's never seen an apple ever. At least my smoking helps me with my issues instead of making them worse.

And there also is confusion at times between chorizo and chourico, which is a fully cooked (smoked) Portuguese sausage. And I've seen where the pronunciation can be (or is) the same, though not by my Portuguese grandmother.

In southeastern New England, with the large Portuguese population, in the stores you'll see Chourico and Linguica just as often as you'll see Chorizo.
That's more like what I think of as the Spanish version.

Yeah people are quick to judge when it's not themselves. I have the same issues with the boys but I've gotten to the point where they can think what they like and say the same it doesn't affect me anymore.

I know what you mean, I see her twice a year she still looks down her nose but doesn't say anything, her partner (he doesn't deserve to be called a step dad) used to be even worse because the smell makes him feel have headaches, fair enough I understand that, has actually sat and listened to me explain WHY I smoke and how much it helps me and will actually sit I'm the garden chatting to me while I smoke.

The thing that gets me is when people call it a gateway drug.. umm hello been smoking on and off for 22 years and haven't ever touched anything else. 😐
My late husband was fully supportive of weed told me once it is my body and my choice if others don't understand it don't bother explain because they never will.

My mother recently came around to the idea that weed is actually good for some things. She presented this at dinner one night, and was shocked when my sister and I were not impressed 😂

It is a gateway drug, TO THE FRIDGE.
I've done other stuff partying but haven't for a year or so since I stopped going to parties lol.

I literally ask people if they prefer me stoned and "normal" or on medication and a zombie?

Plus there are a BILLION studies (roughly 🤣) that have shown that it's not a gateway drug.

People are fucking stupid. Weed is a billion times less damaging than alcohol on so many levels.

Ok, I cannot believe that I'm actually going to type this out, but I am on ChorizoQuest. This isn't really a question, it's a story.

Many. many years ago, when I was a grad student in Ohio, there was this awesome burrito place across the street from my office. It was called Burritos As Big As Your Head, and they were. They made the most amazing burrito with this very spicy chorizo, one of my most favorite things I've ever eaten. I didn't know anything about Mexican food in general then; I mostly grew up in Maine, and at that point, exotic food was the Chinese place that was an hour and a half drive away. So I figured that chorizo is just chorizo, and I'll be able to find something like this deliciousness again.

And I've tried and tried. The only time I had anything like it was in Mexico; I used to grade AP exams, and they'd do that at Trinity College in San Antonio, and my friend and I got there early one year and decided to drive down to Laredo so that we could have dinner in Mexico. Like 6 hours total of driving to have dinner, and so worth it. But my Spanish isn't good enough to have a discussion about the finer points of chorizo with the waiter.

So when I see chorizo in stores, it's either the hard kind that sort of looks like pepperoni, which is Spanish I think? Or in bodega type places I see something that's more like ground sausage packaged like hamburger. But the Chorizo Of My Dreams (which we will now call COMD) was like a combo of the two...a sausage in a casing, which the chef would cut open and discard the casing for the burrito, but a soft fat sausage (that's what she said). I've never been able to find this COMD anywhere.

Help me. Make me understand the ways of chorizo.
If it was that spicy it could've been that it was made by them?

This is the way chorizo should look like. I've never been to NY other than NYC but the bodegas there are usually Caribbean so it is possible they won't have a lot of Mexican stuff if any. I googled your town for Mexican markets and a few options came up but they looked like restaurants so not sure.

In FL regular grocery stores had it 🤔 i think but not 100% sure its been a while.

Idk hopefully that helps? 😕

haha. this is why I mostly stayed away since I quit for pregnancy. It made me hungry, lazy, and content doing nothing. Once I quit I realize I'd rather not be content with the same, and figure out new things again.

My hubby buys for my dad and himself, so not like there is judgement, I'd rather just be moody and drink lol.

I don't know! Thank you! I'll look again here; I haven't tried in a while.

The Caribbean kinds of places don't have anything that I think satisfactory...I go there when I make Jamaican food these days.

The places that look like restaurants probably do have stores attached; that's pretty common here. But I have to say that the Mexican restaurants here are mostly not great...although again, it's maybe finding the right place and saying the right words. There's a Chinese place I like to go to that is that kind of place...it's a store, but they have a small restaurant, too, and they have real Chinese food, and the waiters always try to talk me out of whatever I want to order because they think I won't like it. That's how I know it will be great. 🤣 So need to figure out where the Latinos eat, but the real answer is probably in some little town, not ROchester proper. This is a big fruit and other produce area, so there's a big migrant population especially in the fall, so in a lot of the small villages around here, there's often better food.
