Chaotic Coffee Klatch (tea also available)

I could mow lawns, but I can't handle the heat.

I could sweep floors, but I can't handle being on my feet for hours.

And in nearly any setting there are those ...... people...... ugghhh .... those 'human' beasts. And I'm quite certain I wouldn't like jail, so it's best for all if I stay away from them, them, them .... people .... as far as possible.

Yeah I do get that but that is starting to change, I have a lot of contacts all over the world and with the way covid struck and people being unable to continue or afford study job markets have changed vastly. You will never know unless you try.
Here studying is free and there are student benefits. Schools and universities kept going, although at times mostly without onsite lectures. Young people here are almost forced to study until they have graduated - very few jobs you can apply for without some papers, and they don't get normal unemployment benefits before graduation.

And the job I'd like would be doing mathematician for some public instance, in practice doing statistics. At public institutions they HAVE to fulfill certain requirements.

Managers positions basically fill me with dread.

The same here. Or even 2 millions would be enough.

I used to know. Then life said "screw you". So I have a bright future behind me.
It's an interesting question as to whether it is enough. The first problem is how much you will pay in tax. In the states it's probably 40%. Invested properly it should average a return of 4% with an allowance for normal inflation. that's only 48K per year. Perhaps enough perhaps not.

In Finland the lotto company pays the taxes for the win, so that 2 million would be what I get. It would be enough to buy me the kind of apartment I want (even a house in this city if I wanted), and make a decent living. 48K would be make for a decent middle class living without working at all - taxes for the profit are less than taxes for wages.

in fairness, most of the pythons are not really irresponsible pet owners. Like our capybaras, Hurricane Andrew is to blame for most of it. A python breeding facility was destroyed, releasing a fuck ton (yes my scientific measurement) Yes, the breeding existed for the pet trade, but expecting the level of destruction that was dealt, well, no business functions on a day to day expecting that. Like a decade or so ago, UF actually help with a little study on some captured snakes and snakes they had known came from the facility, and genetic tested should they were almost all related somehow. Not saying pet owners didn't help either, but that facility released like 1000 pythons that day, not counting eggs that may have survived. I'd guess pet owners driving to the everglades to release their pythons were probably less that 100 over decades. I'd think a pet owner lazy enough to do that would be too lazy to drive lol.
I never knew that about the facility destroyed in hurricane Andrew. Is this the hurricane Andrew that happened before Bob in early 90s (maybe very late 80’s)? 1 pregnant python can do a lot of damage. As far as over population and destruction of native wildlife goes. Most of the programs I have seen are probably outdated. OR I only remember hearing about irresponsible pet owners. And I had no fucking clue that FL had a problem with capybaras. I’m going to google… and start filling out adoption applications 😂.

I didn't read the posts above, I know how surprising it'd be to hear this from me, but from what little I glanced, am I right to assume our @Strixaluco is big brains? She can be our residential chaos scientist. We do have lots of "for science" in here. I'm looking at you two @Justadesperatewifeandmom and @MrsNaughtyCat
Just an engineer. Thought of doing thesis at one point but I was already screwed at the time and my brains didn't work as they once used to. (Especially as it wouldn't have been an experimental thesis but everything happening between my brain and the computer, basically... about co-operation of water utilities over town boundaries)

*grumbles* morning. Damn hangover hitting early.
Morning 🥰
Happy Saturday chaos people!
Happy Saturday! 🥰

Don’t forget @crazychemgirl , she’s our other resident scientist!
