I was taught leggings are underwear for cold weather 🤷🏻‍♀️

Practically all women's jeans are stretch - they weren't when I was a kid. My other other pants are stretch too. But in fact if you need stretch, in most cases it means the pants don't actually fit very well. Clothing companies are lazy in that sense.
Leggings / yoga pants are pants… legit all my pants are leggings or yoga pants.

Curious as to why not outside in public?? I mean lots of women wear the everywhere here in the US.. The secretary here wears them everyday !!!
They are not outerwear for me. For me it would feel like going out in pajamas. At most half dressed. Or in sports clothing - the ones that used to get really sweaty. I don't even normally wear running shoes unless I am actually doing sports. Sneakers go to the same category. Used then enough for actually running as a teen.

Here you only quite recently started seeing yoga pants in downtown, but for example for work they are still much too informal.

I read an article once saying that women in Europe and adjacent countries look better when they are older versus American women because they always dress up and shit. Where as we American girls get comfortable and go out in sneakers and yoga pants.
I think black yoga pants can be very versatile and are acceptable for other activities besides yoga but I’ll where whatever the fuck happens to fit. And as far as wearing heels? Those days are mostly over for me now. Unless someone dies or gets married I’m sticking to my converse all stars

Hahahaha … I haven’t worn heels in years!
Even at my dads funeral I didn’t wear heels or a dress.

In America those leggings for cold weather are called “long underwear”. I never thought twice about that being weird. But now… 🤔

Idk bro. Whoever dies is already dead. I'm not wearing heels for that. They're no longer suffering, why should I? 😂 (other than the emotional pain and grieving process of course)

I won’t laugh at this cuz you mentioned your dads funeral and I’m not so shallow as to “haha” your comment. But I avoid them as much as possible. Dresses have their place. Like weddings when it’s hot out. Man. Maybe I have become a slob…

You can actually be stylish and comfortable at the same time.

Also you can be stylish without wearing heels. Even my highest ones are 3 inches, and those are for parties only. In every day life I wear ½-2 inches, meaning flat or low heel. Just bought one new pair of walking shoes this summer, all leather - the kind I can wear all day walking around as a tourist, and again the next day. They are pretty much flat.

I think it’s just we realized that clothing standards were designed in a patriarchal society and there’s no logical reason for a lot of it.
