Ill intent of a person is far more easily achieved when they have easy access to weapons designed to kill rapidly.

Take away the access to weapons designed to kill and they may still cause damage, but to a lesser scale and with more effort. How many people would the guy in Vegas have killed if he had to hit each victim with a bat instead of being in a hotel room far removed?

NY has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation. Yet, a guy was able to walk into a grocery store in Buffalo and murder a bunch of people.

Passing laws taking guns out of people's hands did NOTHING to stop that. And yet you seem to think that passing more of the same kind of laws will result in a different outcome.


Then there's Uvalde. Schools are totally gun free except for the SRO yet a guy was able to buy guns and go on a shooting spree in a place where the law says guns aren't allowed. And the guy who did it was KNOWN to be a nutcase who shouldn't have been able to buy a gun in the first place.

The existing laws about background checks didn't work. Gun Free School Zone laws didn't work. Having the police equipped and trained to respond asap to report of school shootings didn't work. And yet you seem to think that passing more of the same kinds of law will result in a different outcome.


THE PROBLEM isn't the guns. It's the people who use them and unless and until you get on board with addressing mental health and locking up people who are a danger to society and throwing away the key, the situation will continue on the same path it's currently on.

In all of those instances, the shooter was (or should have been) a prohibited person who was able to buy a gun. The reason they were able to buy a gun is because gov failed to do its part and prevent it. What you propose as the solution is to pass more laws which the gov will continue to fail to do.

Meanwhile Hunter Biden is still out there running around as a free man because the gov won't even investigate whether he committed multiple federal crimes when he lied on the form saying he wasn't a prohibited person and then abandoned the gun he bought in a gun free zone.
